I have back pain, what are my options

Conservative treatment is the first option which involves pain medication, physiotherapy, exercises, back brace and weight loss.

If the above fails, second line treatment depending on your condition is pain block procedure whereby the nerves responsible for pain are blocked in a controlled setting to ease the pain. More that 60 to 80% of back pain does not require surgery.

Depending on your condition, if the above fails, you may be a candidate for surgery.
How long is the recovery period for spinal surgery?
